Lubeznik Center for the Arts Lost and Looking Exhibit Family Day

Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) is excited to invite the public to a Family Day celebration on May 15, 2021, from 1 – 4 PM (CST), featuring family-friendly activities and tours of LCA's Lost and Looking exhibition.

The artists of Lost and Looking use memory as a device to confront our pasts and imagination as a mechanism to address our futures. Artworks include paintings, drawings, large-scale sculptures, and a video installation.

On Family Day, kids can bring their favorite grown-ups to view the galleries with LCA docents and discover the stories the artists tell. They can also safely create fun art projects on our outside patio, including accordion books and a postcard project inspired by Wish You Were Here, an ongoing installation piece by Kelly Kristin Jones that asks questions about history and place.

Bring the family on May 15 from 1 – 4 PM (CST) and enjoy a day of art, snacks, and fun — everyone is welcome! No registration is required. In the event of inclement weather, kids' art projects will be available as take-home kits.

If you cannot attend on May 15, the gallery is open six days per week and is always free. Small group gallery tours are available with Exhibitions Director Lora Fosberg. If you would like to arrange one, please feel free to call Executive Director Janet Bloch at (219) 874-4900, ext. 201.

Exhibiting Artists: Gertrude Abercrombie, Theaster Gates, Amy Honchell, Kelly Kristin Jones, Labor Camp (Piotr Szyhalski), Suzanne Cohan-Lange & Rick Lange, Bobbi Meier, Robyn O'Neil, Rodney Passė, Nina Rizzo, and Alison Ruttan.
