Women’s swimming junior Maddie Wilson (Sugar Grove, Ill./Rosary) represented Valpo Athletics as the winter season recipient of the MVC State Farm Good Neighbor Award. Wilson was among 10 student-athletes honored by the conference for their citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service.
Wilson has taken part in numerous community service projects during her time at Valpo, both on and off campus. On campus, she has volunteered with the Valpo Day of Caring, the Dance Marathon, freshman move-in day and the LBAA Tournament.
Wilson has assisted with Cafe Manna, Hilltop Soup Dinner and the Holy Angels Food Pantry. The junior has provided tutoring at Hilltop and has also volunteered at the Aurora Humane Society and the Valparaiso Nazarene Church after-school camp.
