Synopsis
Making Paradise
"They set out to make a film...and discovered paradise"

An innovative film about seven men that dared make a documentary about a special place called Valparaiso.

The film captures the 5-year saga of the inexperienced filmmakers as they attempt to create a film that is 100% independent and without the financial support of special interest groups.

The seven friends had always worked together to create cultural events. They believed that working as a team, they could make a difference. No idea was to ambitious….than Jano suggested his craziest idea yet. Make a film…about making a film.

This would be their biggest project. This would be their final project…this would be their legacy.

What started as a creative idea soon becomes convoluted? The film experts scoffed the film makers’ ideas. Special interest groups gave them their direction. They were sitting on the sidelines. It was no longer about their idea’s. The group that always worked as a team was now splintered. It was losing its fun. It looked as though the project would end when Jano, who never quits, decides to resign.

The group didn’t accept Jano’s resignation. They decided to implode the project, cut the fat, and make a film that was an artistic expression of their love for their town and university. What happened next was beyond any challenges they could have ever imagine. Could seven friends create a film and survive the challenges of a bigger than life project?

The film follows the drama as the group set out to make a film. But what they discover was far bigger than a documentary. What they find is revealed at the films thought provoking end.

What started off as a documentary, ends as a love story.

"They set out to make a film...and discovered paradise."
