March Winner for Shop Local Game Announced

Christine-HooverChristine Hoover of Chesterton has won the March drawing for the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce “10-10 Challenge,” a shop-local game in which participants can enter for a chance to win $50 each month for shopping with Chamber member businesses.

I’ve been playing the game for a while, and I’ve won a couple of times. I think now that the word is getting out about the game, my chances for winning are going to go down,” Hoover said, upon collecting her winnings. In addition to winning a $50 Chamber gift certificate, Hoover qualified for an additional $5 gift certificate for being one of the first 10 players to turn in a completed game card.

In order to qualify for the monthly drawing of a $50 Chamber Gift Certificate, participants must spend $10 with each of 10 different Chamber member businesses, many of whom are displaying their blue-and-white 10-10 Challenge signs. Game cards can be obtained from Chamber businesses, or by visiting the Chamber office at 220 Broadway in Chesterton. For a full listing of Chamber members, be sure to visit www.chestertonchamber.org or call the Chamber at (219) 926-5513.

After spending $10 at a Chamber business, players must have their “10-10 Challenge” game cards punched or initialed by a staff member of that business. After obtaining 10 punches from 10 different Chamber businesses, participants should include their names and phone numbers on the backs of their completed game cards and drop the cards by the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce office at 220 Broadway in Chesterton. Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am- 5pm.

Drawings for the $50 Chamber Gift Certificate will be held the last Friday of each month, and each winner will be contacted via the provided telephone #. The next drawing will be held on Friday, April 30th. There is no limit to the number of complete game cards per person submitted for each monthly drawing.
