May’s Biggest Weekend of 2016 Quickly Approaches at Chicago Street Theatre

CST-Newsletter-May-2016We're just ten days away from our Biggest weekend yet with the World Premiere of Nedra Pezold Roberts' Wash, Dry, Fold. Don't miss this award-winning play from the 2015 New Play Fest that tells the compelling story of two sisters who inherit a rundown laundromat and an uncle who's got plenty of problems of his own.

Join us on Friday, May 20 for a pre-show ceremony with the playwright and special guests from the American Association of Community Theatres. The pre-show ceremony will include an award presentation from members of the Jack K. Ayre and Frank Ayre Lee Theatre Foundation. After the performance, you're also invited to be part of our Opening Night celebration at Restaurante don Quijote.

Opening weekend continues on Saturday, with a special Talkback performance with Nedra Pezold Roberts and the cast and crew of Wash, Dry, Fold. Be a part of CST's step into the national spotlight May 20 & 21!

One Night Jam
Since playing to a packed house for us back in the Fall of 2013, American Idol finalist Casey Abrams has traveled and played all over the world. This time around, the talented singer/songwriter will be joined by fellow TV sensation, Luke Wade of The Voice. It's an unbelievable night of music you will not want to miss with these two Internationally known artists. Take advantage of One Night Jam's Special VIP Meet & Greet before the show to visit with Casey and Luke and receive a personal performance and photo ops. It's BIG talent in an intimate space only at CST.

Make Plans for Summer at CST
Registration is open for CST's Children's Theatre Works Summer programming in theatre education. Our classroom focuses on the importance of creative expression and collaboration, while teaching the fundamentals of theatre through structured play. Classes not only enhance performance skills, but also develop concentration, self-esteem, discipline, and basic problem solving. We have offerings for ages 5-18.

Parents can register by phone or in person at the CST box office or go online to get their kids into the act with a variety of courses, workshops and day camps. Classes run June 13 through July 23.
