Medicaid Waiver Party for Porter County Parents Who Have Children with Disabilities

valpo-community-schoolsOn May 9, 2013 there will be a Medicaid Waiver Party at Valparaiso High School Cafeteria from 6-8:00. Porter County parents who have a child with a disability are encouraged to attend.

We are a group of teachers and social workers from all over Porter County, volunteering our time to reach as many parents as we can with this Waiver Party.

Everyone is transitioning to something. Our children need help planning for the future and now is the time to do that. As soon as a child is identified as having a handicap, they should go through the process of applying for the Medicaid Waiver.

This event offers parents the opportunity to learn about the changes to the Medicaid Waiver, waiting lists, how this funding applies to them, and how to apply, etc. If your child is receiving waiver services already, you do not need to attend. If you have not yet applied for waiver services, or if your child is on the waiting list, please join us at our picnic themed party!

We will have supervised childcare available, hotdogs, snacks, desserts as well as games and activities to keep the children busy while the parents learn in an adjacent room.

Please join us and help to share the information with other parents in Porter County who have a child with a disability.

Please RSVP to Laura Rottinger at SELF (464-9607). Hope to see you there!
