Memorial Opera House Announces Auditions for the Fun Family Musical, Disney’s Camp Rock

Auditions for Memorial Opera House's "Disney’s Camp Rock" will be Saturday, May 21st and Sunday, May 22nd at 1pm and call back date Monday, May 23rd at 7pm. All auditions will be held at the Porter County Expo Center located at 215 East Division Road, Valparaiso.

This summer at camp was supposed to be all about the music and having the time of their lives. But the new, flashy Camp Star across the lake now threatens Camp Rock’s very existence. To keep the doors open, Mitchie steps up, rallies her fellow Camp Rockers, and gets them into top shape for the ultimate showdown! This new musical based on the hit Disney Channel Original Movies Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam will fire up your stage with over a dozen songs, including “This Is Me,” “Can’t Back Down,” “It’s On,” and “We Rock.”

Disney’s Camp Rock Audition Requirements: Looking to cast 20-25 Girls/Boys. Must be 13 years or older to audition. Bring sheet music in your key. Have 16-32 bars of the song prepared. Accompanist will be provided. There will also be a dance audition, cold reading, and some auditioners may be asked to sing song selections from the show. Please also bring any conflicts you may have for rehearsal dates. DO NOT Audition if you are unable to attend EVERY PERFORMANCE and EVERY TECHNICAL REHEARSAL.

Disney’s Camp Rock Performance Dates: July 16th at 8pm and July 17th at 2pm.

Disney’s Camp Rock will be directed by, Michele Craig with Choreography by, Amber Mills.

Read Thru will be Thursday, Thursday May 26, 2011 at 4:30pm at the Memorial Opera House, 104 Indiana Avenue, Valparaiso.

Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, May 31st at 4:30PM at the Memorial Opera House. All rehearsals will begin at 4:30-7pm. Rehearsals will be Monday-Friday. There will be some Saturday rehearsals if needed.

Technical Rehearsal Dates: July 9th –July 15th
