rot1The following programs are being offered by Methodist Hospitals to members of the Northwest Indiana Community in April.

Smoking Cessation Classes – Southlake Campus in Merrillville, 8701 Broadway. Eight 90-minute to two-hour sessions over seven weeks only $60.00. Methodist Hospitals Smoking Cessation classes are based on the highly successful American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking Program. Not all cessation techniques are effective for every smoker. This class will develop the approach that works for each individual. Classes are held on Mondays and begin on April 17 through Wednesday, May 31 (due to Memorial Day Holiday).To enroll call 1-888-909-3627 or visit MethodistHospitals.org. Payments may be made at Methodist Hospitals Cashiers Offices at both Northlake and Southlake Campuses. Cashier hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cash or credit cards are accepted. Classes are limited.

Living After Loss Support Group – A support group for adults grieving the death of a loved one. Beginning on April 3. For information call 219-886-4522.

  • Every Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Southlake Campus in Merrillville, Classroom 2, 8701 Broadway.
  • Every Wednesday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Northlake Campus in Gary. South Pavilion Aud., 600 Grant.

Weight Loss Surgery Seminars – Southlake Campus, Pavilion A, 4th Floor, Suite 430, 101 East 87th. Avenue, Merrillville. An informational seminar about weight loss surgery options. This session is open to all interested persons and their families or friends. Seminars are offered on April 13 and April 27 at 6:00 p.m. To register call 1-888-909-3627.

Cardiac Patient Support Group – Northlake Campus, Slick Conference Room, 600 Grant St. Gary. Methodist Hospital is bringing together cardiac patients, their families and friends to share personal experiences, successes and struggles and offer one another emotional support and get practical advice and knowledge. First session is Wednesday, April 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon. The meetings will be every third Wednesday of the month. To register call 219-738-1075.
