Methodist Offers Parkinson’s Support Group, Kickboxing and Yoga Classes

rot1Methodist Hospitals offers a variety of programs for patients with Parkinson’s disease. Listed below is the schedule of summer programs in June, July and August:

  • The Kickboxing Class for Parkinson’s patients promotes muscle memory, coordination and balance. This class is held every Monday, 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Southlake Campus, Pavilion D Group Room, 303 E. 89th Ave., Merrillville.
  • The Yoga Class helps Parkinson’s patients increase their flexibility, improve posture and loosen tight painful muscles. This class is held every Thursday, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Southlake Campus, Pavilion D Group Room, 303 E. 89th Ave., Merrillville.
  • The Parkinson’s Support Group is for friends and family of loved ones diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. This support group is held the third Monday of each month, noon to 1:30 p.m. Southlake Campus, Pavilion B first floor conference room, 200 E. 89th Ave., Merrillville.
