Middle School Mania at the Valparaiso YMCA

ymca-logo-red-orangeOnce again, middle school age kids are invited to the Valparaiso Family YMCA’s next Middle School Mania Night on Saturday, December 17th, 2011, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Middle School Mania (MSM) will be held at the Y and is open to all boys and girls in grades 6, 7, and 8 in the Porter County area.

The theme of our second night is “Christmas at the Y.” Kids are encouraged to wear holiday attire, which could include your ugly Christmas sweater! A host of activities are planned, including open gym for basketball and volleyball, ping pong, Xbox and Wii games, board and card games, art activities, and a DJ with music and dancing. For the teen artists out there, bring your creativity so you can help us draw and design our next MSM Night flyer!

To ensure everyone’s safety, MSM Night will be held in a “Lock-in” fashion; once the teens sign in, they will remain in the building until pick-up time. A fee of $5.00 per teen will be paid upon arrival. No registration is required.

Middle School Mania Night is an opportunity for young teens to meet new friends and have fun in a safe environment. As with all Y-sponsored events, YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility will be modeled and enforced. All participants are expected to wear attire appropriate to the Y values, including shorts and shirts of appropriate length, tennis shoes, and clothing free of inappropriate or offensive language or images.

MSM Nights could not be held without the support from the Porter Health & Wellness Fund of the Porter County Community Foundation. The Valparaiso Family YMCA is located at 1201 Cumberland Crossing Drive in Valparaiso. For any questions regarding the event, please call 219-462- 4185 or email kscott@valpoymca.org.
