Montessori School of Valparaiso Toddler Program Emphasizes Skills in All Areas of Life

Montessori-Toddler-Program-1Toddlers enrolled in Mrs. Barb’s and Mrs. Marshall’s Toddler Program at Montessori School of Valparaiso are getting the opportunity to experience and use a variety of instruments on a weekly basis. Mrs. Barb Ransom’s daughter, Kathleen Ransom-Cuson, a licensed music therapist with AccessAbilities, Inc., has been volunteering her time in the Toddler program, bringing different instruments each week and leaving them for the classes to use.

Both Toddler classes meet from 8am-10am Monday-Friday and are for students ages 18 months to 3 years old. The emphasis is on developing a sense of order, a sense of self-direction, concentration, coordination, cooperation and positive social interaction, utilizing specialized age appropriate Montessori materials in the areas of Practical Life, Language, Math, Science, Geography, and Sensorial.  The school is also surveying interest regarding a 10:15-12:15 Toddler program.

Montessori-Toddler-Program-2Enrollment for all programs at Montessori School of Valparaiso is now open to the public. Toddler, Preschool, Extended Preschool and Kindergarten is offered as well as a before and after class Enrichment Program for enrolled students. Please call 462-1932 for more information or to schedule an observation of programs.
