“With two previous sold out Harbor Lights performances at the Memorial Opera House, it seemed like the natural place to hold our album release event. We love this Theater. It has so much charm . The audiences are fantastic.” “The Opera House has some wonderful history attached to it and has become a hub for some of the very best music and theater.” Carl said.

Collectables Records, The largest vintage music label in the country will release a third album for the Calumet Region’s own “Harbor Lights.” The new album entitled “The Next Level” will be a follow up to “Almost Acappella,” and “Absolutely Acappella.” The album will be released with national distribution in March. Collectables Records is based in Philadelphia.

Here is what Dennis Pettet of Collectables had to say regarding Harbor Lights and this new project;

“To put it quite simply, Harbor Lights is one of the best acappella doo wop vocal groups in the entire country. Their harmonies are absolutely Stellar. They really have a knack for Taking the pop tunes of the 50’s and 60’s and recording them in an acappella doo wop style that makes you forget that there is no instrumental accompaniment. When I discovered this group I could not believe that they were from Indiana! This street corner doo wop music style is really deep rooted in the East Coast. I never expected a group from the Midwest to deliver this fantastic sound.”

George Carl, spokesperson for Harbor lights said “We really value our relationship with Collectables Records .We enjoy the national attention that it brings to us.”

Carl said “The group has been together for 10 years. Primarily we perform throughout the Midwest and each year our schedule has gotten busier. 2009 was our best year ever and 2010 looks even better.” In addition to recording albums, and doing live performances, Harbor Lights has done commercials for national products. They also wrote and recorded the official Baseball Anthems for The Gary South Shore RailCats and the Joliet Jack Hammers.

“In October of 2009 we lost our dear friend and longtime manager “Big George” Armstrong to a sudden heart attack” Carl said, “We dedicated this new album to him.”
