National Night Out: A Huge Success!

By: Valparaiso Police Department Last Updated: August 3, 2011

Thank You to all Who Participated

Last night neighborhoods across Valparaiso joined together with the Valparaiso Police Officers to show support against crime in the community. A total of ten neighborhoods participated in this year’s National Night Out. Neighborhoods participating this year included Essex Park, Pine Creek, Meridian Woods, 3000 block of Oakgrove, Lexington Green, Central Neighborhood, Villa on Valepark, High Sierra, 1100 block of Napoleon and 550 block of Andover Ct.

Each location had a great turnout. Numerous police officers, police officer’s family members, volunteers and VIP’s members participated in the event. Police officers provided K-9 demonstrations and passed out educational material to children. Neighborhoods participating shared ice cream, hot dogs and many homemade dishes with visiting police officers. The Valparaiso Target Store was a corporate sponsor and provided back to school material to all the children participating.

This event was a huge success due to all the participation of community members in each neighborhood.
