Over 150 Pounds of Prescription Medication Collected
On Saturday April 30th (last Saturday), the Valparaiso Police Department participated in the annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). From 10am to 2pm officers from the Valparaiso Police Department, and DEA Agents accepted old prescription drugs at the Valparaiso Police Department. The department provided giveaways to individuals that dropped off old prescription drugs.
A total of four boxes, equaling over 150 pounds of prescription pills were collected in the four hour period.
The Valparaiso Police Department would like to thank all the participating agencies and community members that dropped off their old prescription drugs.
