Valparaiso Police Department Participating in DEA Take-Back Day 
The Valparaiso Police Department will be participating in the first Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day sponsored by The Drug Enforcement Administration (D.E.A.).
On Saturday September 25th the Valparaiso Police Department will be accepting unwanted prescription drugs at their police station located at 355 S. Washington St. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m. During the event, the department’s K-9 officers will be providing demonstrations to the public.
“With this National Prescription Drug Take-Back campaign, we are aggressively reaching out to individuals to encourage them to rid their households of unused prescription drugs that pose a safety hazard and can contribute to prescription drug abuse, “said Action Deputy Attorney General Gary Gindler. “The Department of Justice is committed to doing everything we can to make our communities safer, and this initiative represents a new front in our efforts”.
