Networking Event Highlights Green Path for Businesses

Crown Point, IN – Carl and Lorrie Lisek of Legacy Environmental Services hope Kinetic participants take away a key message: Small businesses can impact the green movement. “What’s GREEN got to do with it?” will focus on how small businesses can take the green route during the NWI Small Business Development Center’s networking event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 27 at First Financial Bank, 11890 Broadway, at Broadway and U.S. 231.

“This is achievable, becoming greener and leaner is very much achievable,” Carl said. “It doesn’t take a tremendous amount of money. A lot of it is having a plan and sticking to that plan.”

“Even though they might play a small part, it does make a difference,” Lorrie added. “Just the little things they can do as a small business make a difference on the whole picture.”

Kinetic blends a platform for professional development with an opportunity to network in a social atmosphere. Andrew Kyres, vice president at First Financial Bank, said this chance to gather with other professionals is vital for owners to grow and expand their network, pushing more business through their doors.

“These types of networking events are important because they provide an arena whereby small business people gain knowledge and insights so that they may become more efficient and profitable,” Kyres said. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to host a joint event with the SBDC. We share the same philosophy – helping small businesses on their path to success.”
