nwi-sbdcThe America Invents Act that President Obama signed into law last September has transitioned the United States from a first-to-invent to a first-to-file patent system. The Act represents the most significant reform of American patent law since 1952.

While the changes do more closely align U.S. patent law with the rest of the world, many questions and concerns remain for companies large and small, universities, startups and independent inventors.
