New Faces, New Programs at The Caring Place

Lindsey Gargas was hired as the Development Coordinator for The Caring Place. She is a member of Lake Area United Way’s Marketing and Communications Board and has also been involved with GRANTS, Inc.CaringPllaceLogo Gargas has done numerous philanthropic events in Lake and Porter Counties for St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Hilltop Neighborhood House, and other organizations. Gargas will be responsible for fundraising efforts for The Caring Place as well as working on public outreach and coordinating special events. “Creating public awareness and fundraising are two areas which will take The Caring Place to the next level,” Gargas said.

Also, Meredith Mohlke, the Porter County Victim Advocate, joined The Caring Place team. She is bilingual and will help The Caring Place reach out to the Hispanic community. Mohlke looks forward to building up The Caring Place’s Emergency Response Volunteers program as she brings awareness to the community as well as college students. Mohlke said, “We provide a lot of great services. We provide a helping hand to everyone who walks through our doors.

The Caring Place would like to welcome back Kate Snodgrass as she returns to the staff as the Porter County Legal Advocate. “The service that we provide the community is very critical and beneficial. I felt this opportunity is the best way to help and the people are amazing to work with,” Snodgrass stated. Her objective is to provide legal assistance as well as legal information to those who seek assistance.
