New “FamilyFoodFun” Monthly Meetings at NorthShore Health Centers for Families Raising Young Children

FamilyFoodFunThe new year brings exciting news to our Family Care Coordination Program at NorthShore Health Centers. The Outreach Department/Family Care Coordination Program has partnered with the Lake Station/New Chicago Library and Purdue Extension Food & Nutrition Program to offer a monthly meeting aimed at educating families on the importance of parent-child interactions and healthy nutrition for the whole family. Our “FamilyFoodFun” meetings will include story and floor time activities as well as a cooking/nutrition class and raffles and giveaways. Families will also enjoy a home-cooked hot lunch while also receiving updates on NorthShore Health Centers services and upcoming community events.

“FamilyFood Fun” meetings will be held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11am at our Lake Station site and are open to families whose youngest child is between 1 month to 2 years of age. RSVP is required via phone or e-mail. These meetings will replace the monthly “Family Chat” meetings and “Mommy & Me Story Time” as we continuously reevaluate and update to meet the needs and interest of our patients and the community.
