On June 12, Northwestern Indiana Telephone Co. (NITCO) opened the doors of its Hebron location to its customers for the company’s annual Customer Appreciation Day. NITCO has been a Region staple since it first began offering services in 1939 largely thanks to the customers who trust the company to provide high-quality phone, internet, and television services.
Customer Appreciation Day gives NITCO an opportunity to give back to its current customers while attracting new ones with a variety of fun, interactive activities, giveaways, dining, and more.
“It’s an opportunity for us to say thank you to all of our current customers and invite future customers to come have lunch with us,” NITCO Senior Vice President Tom Carroll said. “It’s a day of celebration.”
This year’s event featured a plethora of things to do, including games to play, free ice cream, face painting, and a dunk tank. Everyone who attended could find something to put a smile on their face.
NITCO has seen a large turnout for its Customer Appreciation Day events since beginning them nearly a decade ago. Beyond attracting new business, the events help NITCO build relationships with the customers it serves, creating a strong, long-term bond that can extend generations.
“Relationships are everything in this business,” Carroll said. “We provide great communication services; it’s our customer service that sets us apart. When somebody calls us because they need support, they’re talking to someone who’s right here in Northwest Indiana. That’s a great feeling to know that you might be talking to your neighbor.”
Ultimately, NITCO’s Customer Appreciation Day is an extension of the excellent services it provides customers every day. From management like Carroll to the service providers out in the community, providing customers with exactly what they need is the end goal – even if what they need is a summer party.
“It’s all about getting a free day to spend time with our customers,” Marketing Assistant Kim Lock said. “I love seeing all the little kids running around and getting their faces painted, or our employees having fun over at the dunk tank.”
“I can’t say enough about our employees,” Carroll added. “They’re all here to help make sure that the customers who join us today have a great time. Thank you to all of them; they do an amazing job.”
