NITCO puts an incredible amount of value and appreciation into their customers - so why not throw a party in their honor? Well, on a beautiful Thursday afternoon, they did. For the 4th Annual Customer Appreciation Day the Northwestern Indiana Telephone Co. invited their loyal network users to come down to their headquarters in Hebron to have an afternoon of food and fun on them.
The event, which was literally held in their front yard, brought together families of all ages to enjoy different activities throughout the afternoon - like a dunk tank, corn hole, air brushed tattoos, and other games. There were also hotdogs and chips from NITCO and extra food provided by Designer Desserts and Blue Chip Casino’s King of the Road food truck. Indiana 105 came along as well to supply some music. This event started on a smaller scale four years ago and has grown since due to the customer’s love for the event. Tom Carroll, Senior Vice President of NITCO, said the idea first got rolling in order to show how much they value the people who use NITCO.
“We’re celebrating our customers from the past, present and future.” Carroll stated. “It’s an opportunity for us to give back to our community and to say to our customers that we appreciate them using our services. That’s the reason that we started it four years ago and that’s the reason why it’s grown so big.”
Carroll also noted that the attendance for the event this year jumped from 500 to 1,000 expected guests, and he credits the fun they have had each year as a draw for their customers.
“After the first year of doing this our customers came back and told us that they had a ball, and we wanted to keep giving that to them. We were setting up today and were already thinking about what we want to do next year. We love this as much as the people who come and see us.”
Gavin Bristol, Sales and Network Implementation Engineer (who also got in a few rounds in the dunk tank), also noted that.
“We just want our customers to understand that we’re here for them.” Bristol explained. “It’s wonderful that we’re able to give back to the community a little bit. It’s keeps getting better and better each year because it continues to grow and that more people keep coming back because they had such a good time the year before. It’s just a great afternoon.”
Throughout the NITCO “block party” it was easy to see why people have been drawn back each year to help celebrate with the company. Many of the people who attended were loyal customers bought their kids - and who also brought friends to come along and enjoy it with them. Tiffany Kreiger, who took her family out, said that the event now has become an annual summer event for them.
“I think this party is great - you can tell that everyone always has a good time.” Kreiger stated. “There’s food, games, music and it’s fun for the kids. The atmosphere is great and I’m most definitely coming back again next year.”
Next year NITCO’s Customer Appreciation Day will continue to grow and expand, but it will also continue to entertain their most loyal and happy clients. NITCO’s got the right chemistry going on with their party, and it will definitely keep going for years to come.
