No Step is Too Big for a Stepper

no-step-too-big-1On October 1, 2014 Lindsay Morris, TJ Middle School PE & Health Teacher, Valparaiso High School JV Softball Coach, and single parent-suffered from Serotonin Syndrome caused by medication prescribed by her doctor the day prior.

When she awoke in ICU at the hospital she was paralyzed from the knees down. The cause of paralysis is linked to the high levels of serotonin that was in her system. Lindsay’s journey now consists of her teaching herself to walk again through intense physical therapy and treatment.

Currently, she is on an unpaid leave of absence from work until at least March 31, 2015 when she will be evaluated by her neurologist on whether or not she has progressed enough to return to work. Since October 7th, when she was discharged from the hospital, Morris has made huge strides in her progress. For short periods of time she is now able to be mobile on lofstrand crutches instead of being in her wheelchair.

Morris’ family and friends are asking the community to come together to support Lindsay and her son by purchasing a t-shirt for $15 or making a monetary donation to her cause.

A benefit account is set up at Chase Bank. Donations can be made at any Chase Bank location to the “Lindsay A. Morris Benefit Account”. Online giving is also available by visiting gofund.me/ikgbcc.

To purchase a t-shirt please contact Tristen Comegys via tristen@generatellc.com or call (219) 680-6687.
