workone.gifNorthwest Indiana Workforce Board Announces 2010-11 Board of Directors The Northwest Indiana Workforce Board (NWIWB) is pleased to announce their 2010-11 Chairperson and Board of Directors. Judith Stanton, attorney with Stanton Law Office, will serve as the 2010-11 NWIWB chair.

Stanton was a staff attorney for Legal Services of Northwest Indiana from 1980 to 1995, concentrating on public benefits, family law, housing, and legislative advocacy, and a solo practitioner in Hobart with a general civil practice from 1995 to 2001. Since 2001 she has administered the pro bono access to justice program that recruits volunteer attorneys to assist low-income clients with urgent civil legal problems. Stanton is a family law mediator experienced Guardian ad Litem, and a member of the advisory committee for the Lake Superior Family Court Pro Se Clinic.

Stanton has served on numerous local, regional, and state nonprofit boards and is a recipient of the Indiana Welfare Watch Jean Thurman Justice & Equality Award and the Calumet Project “Community Hero” Award for her advocacy and community leadership on behalf of the disadvantaged.
