The Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis Club is taking orders for its annual tree-ripened Florida citrus sale. Customers can buy seedless navel oranges and grapefruit.
"Since we work directly with Florida growers, our orders are picked and shipped the same day,” said Ron Hager, citrus sale chairman. "As is true with all of our fundraisers, the profit from this sale is used to support Kiwanis programs to improve the lives of children and their families."
Orders for peak season, low cost, fresh citrus, ideal for holiday gifts, are being taken through Friday, November 9th. Cost is $20 for a 20-pound box of oranges, grapefruit or mixed and $30 for a 40-pound box. The latest from the grove is that there will be exceptionally sweet fruit this season.
All orders will be available for pickup during early December at the Porter County Career Center, 1005 N. Franklin Street (West Building) in Valparaiso. Customers will be called when their orders are ready.
