NWICA Sponsors Senior Farmers Market

Northwest-Indiana-Community-Action-CorporationVoucher Program Provides Free Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

The Senior Farmer’s Markets provide access to fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers. NWICA, a Community Action Agency and the Area One Agency on Aging, in partnership with the Indiana State Health Department will host the year’s Senior Farmers Market Voucher Program in Lake and Porter Counties.

The program provides up to $18 in vouchers for seniors to select fresh produce from area farms and food stands. The health benefits of consuming fresh harvest, the social interaction produced at the market, and the financial savings make this a highly desired program for seniors.
