Oak Partners celebrate client relationships at Bulldog Park Ice Rink

Lights were shining, skaters were laughing, and hot chocolate was flowing this Thursday evening at the new Bulldog Ice Rink in Crown Point. Oak Partners, Inc. treated clients, friends and family to a couple of hours on the ice, a hot chocolate bar and cookie station, and an opportunity to strengthen interpersonal relationships throughout.

“What Oak Partners does differently is the relationship we build with our clients,” said Crystal DeHaven, director of client experience. “We pride ourselves on our client experience and focus on having a deeper connection with our clients.”

Those family-oriented overtones were noticeable at Bulldog Park, as skaters of all ages glided on the ice, smiling, laughing, and taking pictures.

“Many of our clients are retirees that bring their children and grandchildren,” DeHaven continued. “It really brings the family together and allows us to get to know our clients and their extended family. It’s great to hang out in a casual atmosphere.”

Oak Partners has been in the business of wealth and retirement planning since 1993, making this their 25th year serving clients. By hosting events throughout the year, they create stronger relationships with their clients and create a space where they can relax and have good times together.

“Hosting events like this is great for clients,” added Oak Partners Financial Advisor Bridget Shoemaker. “We can meet their family and they can meet ours; it makes it more personal, which is always our goal.”

Though a variety of events have been hosted throughout the years, including movie nights and outings at Deep River Waterpark, the ice skating get-togethers have received great response from clientele for three years running. In fact, this year’s event received 227 RSVP’s, beating out both of the previous ice rink outings

“We’ve hosted our skating nights in Valpo the last two years, but since Bulldog Park just opened we thought we’d try it out,” DeHaven said. “It’s more centrally located for our clients; we’ll definitely come back here in the future!”

Despite just opening in December 2018, the skating rink has already gained a huge fan base among local community members.

“It’s really nice to have such a good community atmosphere so close to home,” said Crown Point resident Nicole Scheive, who attended the event with some friends. “Tonight has been super fun!”

Bulldog Park ice rink has already proven to be a big hit with community. Oak Partners was among the first to take advantage of the fun and they certainly won't be the last. For more information visit http://www.oakpartners.com/.
