Oak Partners Celebrates Financial Family

Steak was served with a side of appreciation Thursday night for the clients of Oak Partners Inc. “This event creates a lot of comradery. It feels like a family. We’ve known most of the people here for quite a long time. It ends up being more of a holiday party and it’s something that we look forward to every year,” said Stacey Fargo, Associate Wealth Advisor.

Over 60% of Oak Partners’ clients come from referrals every year, which is why they made the night specifically about honoring clients that had referred their own colleagues and loved ones to Oak Partners.

“These people are definitely valued and we really appreciate their advocacy,” said Bridget Shoemaker, Wealth Advisor and Partner. “We try to do things with our clients all year long. We’re not just focusing on the accounting. We feel that we are managing lifestyles. Our clients are so much more than just a number on a paper. It’s really about getting to know them and getting to know their families.”

Throughout the evening, guests were able to enjoy the piano skills of David Herr, Choir Director of Bishop Noll Institute.

Oak Partners’ five different advisory groups each honored a client with an Advocate of the Year award. Described as clients that immediately became friends, all recipients received personalized gift baskets. Winners included John and Diana Schafer, Jeff and Alane Casteel, Marco and Karen Kuyachich, Doug Robinson, and Al and Sue Lasowski.

Not only did Oak Partners honor clients during the evening, but they also did a little something to give back to the community. Clients were asked to bring toys that will be donated to the Carmelite Home located in East Chicago. The Oak Partners family wanted to share some love to the 86 kids ranging ages 0-17 who may not being seeing their own family this holiday season.

“We’re just trying to bring a little more Christmas cheer to them and our clients always humble us with how generous they are,” said Crystal DeHaven, Director of Client Experience, who first heard of Carmelite Home through one of the Oak Partner clients.

As the evening drew to a close, Mark Ruiz gave parting words that summed up the idea behind the entire event. “We can’t always control the outcome of our work considering it is a financial department, but we can control the gratitude we share for our clients.”
