Oh My Mosh! Warped Tour 2010

warped-2010.jpgWaking up at 8:00 am during the summer isn't exactly what most teenagers like to do. However, thousands of kids, teenagers, and even adults eagerly unwrap themselves from their covers, throw on some clothes and look forward to a world of music they are about to enter on July 31st 2010.

Camera bags packed, music playing, windows down we cruise down the highway to arrive at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre. We watch as diverse groups of people make their way through the gates with a smile on their face. Everyone is eager to feel the pulse of the drums and the chords of the guitars sink into their skin.

$2.00 cha ching: We purchase our schedule and map that will guide us through the day. As we circle the bands we want to listen to, we make our way to our first stage. Time: 12:35. Our day begins. The Band "Hot Chelle Rae" stuns us as our fingers begin clicking our camera buttons to freeze time and make memories.

Seventy-Five bands and seven stages, things become a little hectic. "Chicago, our favorite place to be" is a phrase the bands often use. warped-tour-1Known for our numerous crowd surfers and high-energy mosh pits the bands feed off of our excitement resulting in rememberable performances and non-stop talk about how amazing the bands are.

We move the day listening to many bands such as: Breathe Carolina, Anarbor, Mike Posner (known for his hit song "Cooler than me" that plays repeatedly on popular stations), Emmure, Ace Enders, You Me At Six, Emarosa, Breathe Electric, Artist Vs. Poet, The Rocket Summer, We the Kings, and NeverShoutNever.

Each band offers their own unique sound and performances, which makes the day enjoyable to many different listeners. Not a fan of any of the bands playing at a certain time? There are so many other exciting things to do. Merchandise tables are lined up throughout the whole park where you can fulfill your shopping itch and support your favorite bands buy purchasing posters, bracelets, t-shirts, and tank tops! There are art tents where you are free to paint your body and clothes. Not to mention there are signing times where you can meet your favorite band, take a picture with them, and have them sign a souvenir.

Not only is music used for means of entertainment, it is a way that people communicate. The bands listed at Warped Tour are bands that this young population has taken a strong liking to. People from all over come together to share the experience of Vans Warped Tour to enjoy the music, meet new people, dance, and discover new bands.
