The board of directors is excited to share with you that Neil Samahon has been chosen as the new President/CEO of Opportunity Enterprises. Neil will begin serving in this capacity on July 1st.
Neil is the perfect candidate for this position because he lives the mission every day. His oldest daughter Ashley is a client at OE. He knows the importance of OE’s services being available to individuals as well as their families. He is devoted to ensuring the services of OE will be around long into the future.
Neil currently is the CEO of Metro Recycling and Metro Auto Recyclers, where he has been employed for the past 25 years. He has proven leadership skills, a strong business aptitude, and a heart for our mission.
Neil has also been closely involved with OE, serving on the board of directors for the past six years. We plan to have many opportunities for you to meet him later this summer.
Here are a few fast facts about Neil! He was born in London, England, moved around a bit, and grew up predominantly in the suburbs of Chicago. Eight years ago, Neil made Valparaiso his home with his wife, Debbie, and their two daughters, Ashley (30) and Clare (20). The family adores their Collie and two Great Danes, who together weigh over 340 pounds! He loves to travel, golf, and spend time doing anything with his family.
With this new transition in leadership, Marc Ruiz is serving as Board of Directors Chairperson and John Freyek is serving as the Vice Chair. I hope you’ll join us in welcoming Neil and celebrating this next chapter in OE’s leadership.
