Opportunity Enterprises Offers Day Camps for Children with Disabilities

OE-Day-Camp-2012-1Opportunity Enterprises is offering two weeks of summer day camp for children with disabilities or developmental delays. Camp for ages 6-11 will run Monday, July 9 through Friday, July 13, 2012 from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm. For ages 12 – 18, camp is scheduled for Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 20 from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm. There are only eight spots available for each week of camp, and they will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Camp will take place at the Michiana Resources Daybreak Property, 1800 S Woodland Avenue in Michigan City. Campers will be transported from the OE Respite House, 478 High Meadows, Valparaiso, to the Daybreak Property each day of camp.

 

Activities for campers are designed specifically for children with disabilities or developmental delays, and will include trips to the park, games, fishing, and arts and crafts. Camps are staffed with professionals trained to work with individuals with disabilities.

Cost for the camp includes a registration fee of $200 per child, plus an activity fee of $25 per child. Interested families must attend a required registration and informational session on Wednesday, June 20 at 2:30 pm at the Daybreak Property.
