Opportunity Enterprises Offers Presentation on Assistive Technology

Imagine a fifty-seven year old grandmother who is legally blind, corresponding with her granddaughter on Facebook. Or a paraplegic veteran earning a living through computerized data entry.  Or maybe a young man with cerebral palsy using a specialized device to brush his teeth.

The field of Assistive Technology encompasses all of these feats and more. Anyone who is interested in learning more about computer adaptations and independent living aids for individuals with disabilities can join Pam White, Assisitive Technology Practitioner, at Opportunity Enterprises, 2801 Evans Ave. in Valparaiso, on October 19 at 6:30 p.m. for an interactive look into the world of high- and low-tech adaptations for people living with disabilities.

This event is open to the public.

Family and Friends Together was established to assist current and future families seeking the services of OE. Its objective is to work with OE employees to better serve these families by sharing resources, information and volunteer opportunities.
