Opportunity-Enterprises-Receives-1000-Grant-for-Technology-at-Lakeside-01Opportunity Enterprises received a $1,000 grant from AseraCare Foundation to enhance OE’s digital library. Renewed Horizons, a developmental program at OE Lakeside, will be receiving tablets to benefit more than 50 clients who are currently being served.

Renewed Horizons is a curriculum-based program designed to bring out the fullest potential in individuals with moderate developmental disabilities aged 50 years or older.

Programming includes sports, arts & crafts, computer, sign language, music, and kitchen activities. We offer seasonal activities in a safe environment, and have a garden, picnic area, Lake Eliza, and a beautiful outdoor scene for clients to enjoy. The activities are meant to foster cooperation, socialization, and creativity.

“The benefit of a digital library is virtual access to the latest trends in senior care. Our volunteers, families and staff will be able to engage with our clients and learn more about their needs,” said Kacie Ensign, Donor Relations Coordinator for OE.

Kerry Robinson of AseraCare Hospice and Rick Lijana of BrightStar of Valparaiso were on hand to present the grant.
