Opportunity Enterprises to Benefit from Give Day

Point-Click-Give-2012Opportunity Enterprises is one of 17 local non-profits to benefit from the Porter County Community Foundation’s upcoming GIVE Day, a one-day giving holiday which will take place on November 8, 2012 beginning at 12:01 am and ending at 11:59 pm.

On this one day only, gifts made to OE as part of GIVE Day will apply for matching funds from a pool of more than $50,000 contributed by generous sponsors through the Porter County Community Foundation. Donations made to OE as part of this event will support the construction of an integrated apartment building which includes fully handicap-accessible apartments at its Lakeside property.

Donors can give online at portercountygiveday.org, or drop off checks in-person between 8 am and 5 pm at The Times, 1111 Glendale Blvd, Valparaiso. Only gifts received on November 8, 2012 through GIVE Day, will qualify for matching funds.

OE is thrilled to be a GIVE Day participating agency, and wants to thank the Porter County Community Foundation for bringing this event to our community,” says Ellen DeMartinis, Interim President/CEO of Opportunity Enterprises. “Like all of the agencies involved in GIVE Day, OE is dedicated to providing viable housing alternatives for individuals needing residential support throughout Porter County, and welcomes the opportunity to further its mission through innovative fundraising.”

Matching fund sponsors through the Porter County Community Foundation include Restaurante don Quijote, Rotary Club of Valparaiso, Task Force Tips, Thrivent Financial – Greater Valparaiso, The Times Media Company, and The Valparaiso Mayor’s Ball. Additional contributions have been made by Scott and Elizabeth Allen, Patricia Crise, Portage Mayor’s Ball, and Special Kids Fundraiser Committee.
