CONGRATULATIONS to the speech team that won the first place trophy at Fort Wayne Memorial last Saturday.
First place: Blue ribbons were won by Kelly Adams, Marija Nicksic, Caroline Koenig (for the second straight week, and the duo of Ally Runnion and Livy Crim Second place: Madeline Buynak, Erin Thomas, Lauren Stazinski, Lena Barajas, Daniel Azar, Mary Cobble, and the duo of Gareth Kaye and Marija Nicksic Third place: Shirantha Stanislaus, Mikaela Meyer, and the duo of Daniel Barajas and Nina Hartman (The large number of 2nd and 3rd place ribbons were responsible for Saint Paul winning the 1st place trophy!) Fourth place: Mikaela Meyer (2nd event), Kelly Adams (2nd event), Kate Meccia, and Taylor Kovats Fifth place: Mary Cobble, Kate Meccia, and the duo of Caroline Koenig and Daniel Azar (all 2nd events) Seventh place: Jennifer Gough, Elizabeth Wehren, Emily Kopp
The speech meet was double the size of last week’s meet and Mrs. Bengert is very, very proud of the team’s hard work and accomplishments. This Saturday the team travels to Logansport.
Judges were Mrs. Maggie Cobble, Mrs. Beth Gough, Mr. Greg Koenig, Mr. Jim Meyer, Mrs. Mindy Reineke, and Mrs. Sue Wehren. Mrs. Kelly Stazinski also drove and, when the host school was unable to provide food, did an “emergency run” for snacks and lunch. Thanks to all!!!
