St. Paul speech team returned from its season opener at Lincoln Middle School in Plymouth last Saturday with a second-place trophy. Individual ribbon winners are as follows:
First place: Mikaela Meyer: a blue ribbon in each event! Mary Cobble; Thomas Walsh; Billy Yogan; Caroline Koenig Second place: Lena Barajas; duo of Billy Yogan and Nina Hartman; Mary Cobble in her second event Third place:Thomas Walsh; Emma Mazurek; Erin Thomas; Elizabeth Wehren; Daniel Azar Fourth place: Kelly Adams; Jennifer Gough; Taylor Kovats Fifth place: Daniel Azar in his second event Sixth place: duo of Ally Runnion and Livy Crim Seventh place: Kate Brogan
Judging for St. Paul and driving the team were Mrs. Melissa Adams, Dr. Nicole Azar, Mrs. Beth Gough, and Mrs. Alice Meyer. Mrs. Kathleen Koenig drove as well. Mrs. Bengert was more than satisfied with the team's first performance in four years and looks forward to next Saturday's speech meet at Memorial Middle School in Fort Wayne.
