Parkview Teacher Book Signing at Barnes & Noble Book Fair

Parkview Elementary’s own Greg Karas (aka Mr. K) has written his first book, “The Hummingbird Defenders” and will be doing a book signing and discussion at the Valparaiso Barnes and Noble at 6:00pm on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 during Parkview’s book fair. Mr. Karas shares a collection of stories, poetry and essays that span the time from his years growing up as a boy in East Chicago, to his more recent days teaching fourth grade at Parkview Elementary. It is filled with one story after another of amazing people who have inspired and touched him over the course of his life including adults like former Parkview Principal Doug Hollar and remarkable students from past classrooms. He also describes how a hike up Mount Baldy changed his life. “The Hummingbird Defender” appeals to readers of all ages, and will be available for purchase during the book signing.

On Wednesday, December 16, 2009 please shop at Barnes and Noble and mention that you’d like your purchases to benefit Parkview Elementary. The school will make between 10-15% of all sales when a customer mentions Parkview or turns in a voucher. Proceeds will be used by the Parkview PTA to help support school activities and events.
