PATH CEO Receives International Award

PATH Executive Director and Co-Founder Wilma Willard is the recipient of the International Abstinence Clearinghouse 2009 Lifetime Service Award. The award recognizes Willard for the creation of PATH-A Positive Approach to Teen Health, efforts to raise awareness of teen health issues, and success in widening the program’s sphere of influence. She has worked in the health education field for 30 years, serving PATH for the last 16 years.

PATH’s teen health programming addresses at-risk behaviors related to sex, relationships, alcohol, and drugs in the counties of Porter, Lake, Starke, LaPorte, Pulaski, Newton, and Jasper. Under Willard’s leadership, the program has reached 100,000 Northwest Indiana youth through its health education and positive relationship training.

Willard accepted the award at IAC’s conference in Puerto Rico earlier this year.
