The Foot Pursuit 5K race is a 3.1-mile trail race run entirely inside Sunset Hill County Park. The course includes both wooded trails and rolling hills. The Foot Pursuit 5k is a challenge for any runner, and highly competitive. Just like years past, weather conditions will play a factor in the race. So far we’ve had blistering cold, ice, knee deep snow, and a year of mud.
What will 2010 bring?
Fourth year in a row: Wear a costume get a prize! The weather’s perfect for an extra layer, you may as well show off a little. FP5k is part of both the local XYZ Trail Series and the National Trail Runner Magazine Point Series.
Charity
Proceeds from the 5th Annual Foot Pursuit 5K will benefit the Porter County Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Sunset Hill Interpretive Center, and the Timothy Hecht Scholarship.
The race will starton March 6th, 2010 at 9:00 am. Both runners and walkers are encouraged to participate. All pre-registered participants are guaranteed a t-shirt. Day of registrant shirts will be first come first served. Awards will go to Male and Female overall winners, and also to the first three finishers in each age group. Age groups are:
Male/Female: 0-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
