Philanthropy Done in Style

33 years of dedication to philanthropy done in style, the sisters of the Delta Theta Tau sorority once again hosted the 33rd Annual Spring Style Show at Harre Union at Valpo University - an event to showcase local fashion boutiques as well as raising money for multiple charities and scholarships.

Dianne Kwiatkowski, the Chairman of the fashion show and a member of the Tau Chapter for 30 years said, "It's a great social evening. Everyone seems to enjoy getting out and seeing old and new friends."

More than a fashion show, the event was a massive networking and communication between the sorority and the local community, "It's phenomenal, because there are so many Delta members who are involved in many other things besides just the Delta organizations," said Donna Phelps, owner of Seasons on the Square - one of the boutiques displaying their clothing lines, "and they contribute to so many other worthwhile causes."

Donna continued, "The Deltas have always put on a class act for years. When they asked, we were absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them."

Seasons on the Square, Indian Summer and Haute (formerly known as La Grande Trunk) all displayed their spring fashions, in hopes that the recent sunny weather continues.

There were also boutiques set up with jewelry and other fashion accessories on display. Each boutique paid for a booth to be able to sell and advertise their products at the show. The cost of the booths went to charities and scholarships.

Jill Kilhefner, the corresponding secretary and a member of the Style Show Committee, said, "Delta Theta Tau is a philanthropic sorority, so all the women in the area get together, have fun, spend a little money and it all goes back to the people who need it."

It's great to see the community having fun and working together in order that the less fortunate may see a piece of comfort and stability in these difficult times.
