Picture Perfect Profits

The sun was shining, the temperature was perfect and the clubs were swinging!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County 29th Annual Golf Outing was once again a huge success.  Forest Park Golf Course on the 29th of July was very busy as 144 golfers and over 25 volunteers showed their support for the 5,225 club members.  The annual golf outing was a day of fellowship, food, fun and most importantly raising dollars for children.  The annual golf outing is one of two special events that take place during the year to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County.

The clubs provide diverse activities that meet the interests of all youth through their five areas of program activities.  Sports, fitness and recreation is one of the areas in which the club members are actively involved on a daily basis.  Having the necessary equipment; dodge balls, hula hoops, jump ropes, kick balls, basketballs, just to name a few is one of the many ways that these funds are to put to good use.

Science experiments, trivia contests, and newspaper clubs, are a sample of the many activities that happen in the Learning Center.   Without caring individuals, corporations and local businesses, that attend the golf outing, this life-enhancing program through our Education and Career Development core would also not be possible.

Thank you ValpoLife.com for capturing this special event for us on video, you have provided us with an opportunity to share our passion with others.  The Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County is extremely grateful for all the community support and to those who were a part of this event from outside Porter County also.  The generous support we receive provides us with the financial foundation for our key programs as well as to try innovative ideas and expand our reach.

Our next special event is our annual Steak & Burger dinner.  This will be held on October 15, 2009 at the Porter County Expo Center.   Be a part of this exciting evening and share an evening with over 150 club members.  The dinner offers a unique twist – adults eat hamburgers while members enjoy steaks!

Thank you for helping us uphold our mission to enable and inspire the youth of our communities to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
