PNC Faculty Members Publish Research Paper

Purdue University North Central College of Engineering and Technology faculty members Dr. Li Tan, assistant professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology, and Dr. Jean Jiang, guest lecturer, recently published their research paper, "Novel Adaptive IIR Filter For Frequency Estimation and Tracking," in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) "Signal Processing Magazine", November issue.  This is considered to be the most prestigious journal, in the area of digital signal processing.

IEEE is the world's largest professional association advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity. It is known as the trusted "voice" for engineering, computing and technology information around the globe. More than 375,000 members in more than 160 countries inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through its publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities.

Tan and Jiang have together authored a number of books and articles and have made presentations at professional conferences in the United States and abroad.

Tan is an IEEE Senior Member and his areas of expertise include digital signal processing and multimedia systems, digital communications, control and nonlinear systems. He has pursued research work and patents in the area of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and communications with publications on IEEE transactions. He is also focusing on research in applications of bioinformatics to various intelligent systems.

Jiang is a member of the IEEE and her principal technical areas are digital signal processing, adaptive signal processing and control systems.
