The Purdue University North Central Student Government Association will host its 2011 High School Leadership Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Library-Student-Faculty Building, Assembly Hall, Room 02.
All area high school students are eligible to attend. Registration is $50 and is due by Sept. 23.
Participating students will learn essential skills necessary for becoming an effective leader and will be able to apply what they learn in order to sharpen their existing leadership skills. They'll also receive tips and tools to hone their brainstorming abilities; they'll learn how to better develop their professional communication skills and they'll have the opportunity to enhance their networking skills.
Presenters will include Kyle Otten, director of Beyond Boundaries at Porter-Starke Services, Inc. and John Coggins, PNC dean of Students.
