PNC Offers Viewing of the Night Sky

Purdue University North Central will host a viewing of the night sky on Friday, April 16 at 8 p.m. Observation through the telescope will be at the far south end of the PNC campuspurdue-north-central. The event is free and open to the public. In the event of cloudy or inclement weather, the viewing will be Friday, April 23 at 8 p.m.

The public is invited to take a close-up look at some early summer constellations, see the Moon, Venus, Mars, Saturn and the Orion Nebula through 10- and 8-inch telescopes and ask astronomy questions. Guests may bring their own telescopes.

Dr. Aaron Warren, PNC assistant professor of Physics, will be on hand to answer astronomy-related questions and provide descriptions of the objects being observed to make this an interactive learning experience suitable for all ages and interests.

Participants are asked to park in PNC lot 7 and walk to the viewing area near the North Central Veterinary Center. There will be no parking allowed at the Veterinary Center for this event.
