PNC Panther Baseball Team Volunteers in the Community

Baseball-2013The Purdue University North Central Baseball team recently visited the Boys & Girls Club of Michigan City to lead a free conditioning clinic for the club members.

"The Michigan City area has always supported our PNC Panther sports teams so it was only natural for our baseball players to volunteer to spend some time with some of the young athletes in our community," said Tom Albano, PNC director of Student Athletics.

Baseball team members were Jordan Polito, of Schererville; Cody Haver, of Valparaiso; Sam Maxwell, of Vincennes; Cody Jansen, of Kokomo; Brody Kutch, of LaPorte; Tyler Frye, of Valparaiso; Jay Resendez, of Rensselaer; Marcus Jackson, of Griffith and James Thompson, of Hammond. They were accompanied by Panther assistant coach Larry Blake gave an instructional clinic that covered the basics of conditioning, the fundamentals of hitting, throwing and catching a baseball.

"The Boys & Girls Club members were very eager to interact with, and learn, from our baseball players," said Albano. "In turn, our student athletes were honored to have this opportunity to share the game that they love so much. It was a tremendous experience for everyone."
