PNCWA Presents Check to Department of English

PNCWA-Laura-Odom-Bethany-LeeThe Purdue North Central Women's Association (PNCWA) recently presented the Department of English and Modern Languages with its Big Pink Check to help support the department's programming. Each spring the PNCWA presents a Big Pink to an academic department to enhance the educational experience of PNC students.

The Department of English and Modern Languages offers PNC students the Modern Languages Lab, providing tutoring for students in Foreign Language Class as well as services and equipment to American Sign Language students; the Writing Center, offering tutoring on various phases of writing, editing and generating papers; the annual Portals writing and art contest and a theatre program.

PNCWA President Laura Odom, PNC Assistant Director of Office of Institutional Equity and Training, explained that the department decided to utilize the funds for the English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta, the American Sign Language Club,and the English Club.
