The Purdue North Central Women's Association Fall Luncheon,"Get Healthier Through Laughter," will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the PNC Campus. Certified Laughter Yoga Instructor, Tanaz Bamboat, will introduce this new revolution in body-mind medicine. Laughter Yoga is done in a group, standing or sitting in a chair. This is for all ages and all capabilities and there are no yoga poses. Bamboat invites everyone to participate in this program and learn how to live "Happily Ever Laughter."
Research shows that there are many health benefits to laughter; that deepening our laugh lines may also extend our life lines. Laughter Yoga combines simple laughter exercises and gentle yoga breathing to enhance health, happiness and healing.
The proven benefits of laughter are:
- Improves circulatory system
- Reduces anxiety, depression, and relieves pain
- Gives you freedom from stress
- Gives you a stronger immune system
- Energizes your lymphatic systems
- And provides an aerobic workout, so it even burns calories!
