North Central Honors
The North Central MBA students presented their Outstanding Faculty Award to Dr. Ceren Turedi, of Chicago, assistant professor of Marketing, who teaches the Marketing Principles and Strategy course.

Students noted that Turedi is an enthusiastic supporter of experiential learning and connects students with the business world in meaningful ways thus increasing the impact of Purdue Northwest on local business practice. She has been instrumental in establishing a student chapter of a national marketing association.

The Outstanding Student Leader Award went to Farah Navder, of Michigan City, who earned her MBA in May. To select the Outstanding Student Leader, members of the MBA class of 2016 were asked to select a student who demonstrated leadership skills, worked effectively as a team member, contributed to classroom discussions and participated in service activities outside of the classroom.

Navder completed her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Master’s degree in International Business from University of Wollongong in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She was inducted into Delta Mu Delta business honor society.

Calumet Campus Honors
The Calumet Campus Executive MBA students presented their Outstanding Faculty Award to Edward Furticella, of Munster, head of the PNW Department of Quantitative Business Studies. In selecting Furticella for the honor, students lauded him for being “down to earth” and for sharing a wealth of experience gained from his time spent in banking and for his friendly style of teaching Accounting.

Graduating student Russell Mulligan, of Highland, received the Outstanding Student Award as selected by the Executive MBA faculty members. Russell, who is a 2016 graduate of the MBA program, was the class representative for the MBA cohort group.

He was cited as being “distinguished in his professional conduct” and for his overall excellence in both his academic performance and leadership style.
