PNW hosts 2022 Academic Senior Super Bowl

Purdue University Northwest (PNW) recently hosted 151 Northwest Indiana high school students on March 9 during its 13th Senior Academic Super Bowl Invitational at the university’s Westville campus.

The competition included teams from nine high schools: Boone Grove High School, Chesterton High School, Hebron High School, Kouts High School, Morgan Township High School, Marquette Catholic High School, Valparaiso High School, Washington Township High School and Wheeler High School.

The team of students from Boone Grove High School placed first overall. Wheeler High School and Valparaiso High School tied for second overall. 

The competition theme was “Canada, Our Neighbor to the North” with students competing in six subject areas – Math, English, Science, Fine Arts, Social Studies and Interdisciplinary.

Academic Super Bowl competition in Indiana is a part of the Indiana Association of School Principals, Department of Student Programs. 

The next Academic Super Bowl will take place on March 23 again at PNW’s Westville campus.  There will be six teams competing that night: Home Scholars, LaCrosse High School, LaPorte High School, New Prairie High School, Oregon-Davis High School and South Central High School.
