Poem of the Week: “In the Braille Garden” by Mary Makofske

vprThe VPR Poem of the Week is Mary Makofske’s “In the Braille Garden,” which appeared in the Fall/Winter 2011-2012 issue (Volume XIII, Number 1) of Valparaiso Poetry Review.

Mary Makofske’s Traction recently won the Richard Snyder Prize offered by Ashland Poetry Press. Her previous books are The Disappearance of Gargoyles (Thorntree Press) and Eating Nasturtiums (Flume). Makofske’s poems have appeared in Poetry, Natural Bridge, Zone 3, Calyx, and other journals.
