Porter County Career and Technical Center Open Houses

The open house scheduled for tonight has been rescheduled to February 23rd, 6:30 to 7:30, due to weather conditions.

These are the exceptions to the evening visit on Feb. 23:

  • Under Portage programs, Work Study will not have an evening visit.
  • Under Boone Grove program, Culinary will have an evening visit (only), but the location will be Boone Grove High School, not the previously scheduled Career Center.
  • Under Don Roberts, Cosmetology does not have an evening visit.
  • Under Chesterton, the evening open house is Feb. 22, not Feb. 23.

Several dozen career and technical programs are available for students in Porter County high schools, along with Hobart High School, and there is an open house January 27th from 8-9am that all are encouraged to come to.

Whether a student wants to study Educational and Early Childhood Services, Modern Machining, Nursing, Video Production, Marketing, Horticulture, or a variety of other programs, there are many opportunities available in these and other classes.

The second of three open houses will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 10 starting at 6:30 p.m. Programs are housed at a variety of sites, ranging from the Porter County Career and Technical Center to Portage High School to Morgan Township High School.

The third and final open house for most programs will take place at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
